BelTox – Innovative Tools for 3Rs Testing
This year, BelTox will organise with INVITROM and the IC-3Rs platform a symposium on 21 November at the VUB campus in Jette (Brussels). The theme is “Innovative Tools for 3Rs Testing”. and will include the application of in vitro and in silico testing in regulatory health and environmental risk assessment. Speakers will also explain the use of 3D-models and organ-on-a-chip techniques as used in pharmaceutical research and development. The programme foresees discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in toxicology and risk assessment.
As usual every year, young scientists are invited to participate in a competition/contest (YSC) for the best poster or platform presentation. There is no specific subject required, but contributions related to the symposium theme or alternative test methods are particularly welcome. The General Assembly of BelTox is scheduled before lunch time.
The symposium will be followed by a workshop on “Designing research projects according to the 3Rs”, to be held on the next day (22 November 2019). The workshop is open for participants of the symposium only and registration is limited to 50 persons.
The full programme of the symposium and the workshop can be viewed on https://beltox.be/scientific-meeting-2019/. On-line registration and YSC submissions can also be done through this link.
